The Springfield Police Department’s Pro-Active Crime Unit and Street Crimes Unit arrested a Springfield man on drug and weapons charges following a search of his residence on February 12, 2025.
Brandon C. Ott, 29, was taken into custody at his home after officers executed a search warrant without incident. At the time of his arrest, police say Ott was in possession of 2.5 grams of cocaine. A further search of the residence led to the seizure of approximately 10 grams of cocaine, 26 fentanyl pills, a scale with fentanyl residue, cooking cups with crack cocaine residue, and a Smith & Wesson 9mm firearm.

Ott faces multiple charges, including unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, and possession of a firearm without a valid Firearm Owner’s Identification (FOID) card. He was taken to the Sangamon County Jail.
Authorities noted that Ott was already on pre-trial release for previous drug-related charges, including the manufacture and delivery of methamphetamine and controlled substances. He was also wearing an ankle monitor with home confinement restrictions at the time of his arrest.
