Springfield Memorial Hospital has announced the addition of nine new members to its board of directors, as well as two former members joining the Memorial Health board of directors. These individuals bring a wealth of experience and diverse backgrounds to the boards, demonstrating a commitment to improving lives and building stronger communities through better health.
The new members joining the SMH board include Amy Beadle, Janet Gooch, Marcus Johnson, Kirsten Kienzler, Greg Matthews, Clint Paul, Vidya Prakash, Murty Renduchintala, and Angie Sowle. Each member brings a unique set of skills and experiences to the board. Beadle, for example, has over 30 years of experience in the travel, hospitality, retail, and tourism industry and is active in several community organizations. Gooch is the chancellor of the University of Illinois Springfield and serves on the board of the United Way of Central Illinois and the Springfield Sangamon Growth Alliance.
These nine new members join current SMH board members Michael A. Aiello, Lynne D. Barkmeier, MD, Wendi Wills El-Amin, MD, David L. Griffen, MD, Timothy D. Harvey, MD, and James W. Reed Jr.
In addition, two former members of the SMH board, Jennifer Gill, superintendent of Springfield Public Schools District 186, and Sergio “Satch” Pecori, chairman and CEO of Hanson Professional Services Inc., are beginning terms on the Memorial Health board of directors. Gill also serves on the boards of the Springfield YMCA, Springfield Sangamon Growth Alliance, Large Unit District Association, and Illinois Association of School Administrators, while Pecori has more than 40 years of experience in the engineering industry and has served in numerous leadership roles within the profession.
The current members of the Memorial Health board of directors are Michael A. Aiello, Reginald H. Benton, John D. Blackburn, Barbara A. Farley, PhD, Aimee L. Fyke, Randall S. Germeraad, Nina Harris, Joseph M. Hurwitz, Jerry E. Kruse, MD, Jonathan T. Locke, MD, Cheryl S. Martin, William D. Putman, MD, Dean E. Robert Jr., Diane K. Rutledge, PhD, John Waddock, and Todd W. Wise.
Charles D. Callahan, PhD, SMH President and CEO, expressed his enthusiasm for the new members of the board, stating that “Our board members are passionate about Memorial Health’s mission to improve lives and build stronger communities through better health, and I look forward to working with them to fulfill that mission.”
