Crime Stoppers: Crime of the Week

The Springfield Police Department is seeking the public's help in an ongoing investigation into a burglary at Capital Storage (818 S Dirksen). The incident occurred between August 7th and 8th.


The suspect, believed to be a male, arrived in a silver Ford SUV with possible registration "CV58296." The lock on a storage unit was broken, causing $350 in damage. The suspect made off with a valuable antique desk worth $2000.

Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 217-788-8427. A cash reward of up to $2500 is possible for tips leading to an arrest. Remember, Crime Stoppers values information, not your identity.
