After more than a decade of bringing craft beer enthusiasts and seafood lovers together for a good cause, the Springfield Oyster and Beer Festival (SOB) will not take place in 2025, organizers announced.
Citing rising costs, increased oversight regulations, and limited time to dedicate to event planning, the SOB Committee made the difficult decision to retire the festival after 14 successful years.
Since its inception, the annual event has become a staple in the local craft beer scene, offering attendees the chance to enjoy unique brews, fresh oysters, and live entertainment—all while supporting charitable causes. Over the years, the festival has raised significant funds for local organizations, leaving a lasting impact on the Springfield community.
“The Springfield Oyster and Beer Festival wasn’t just about oysters and beer; it was about community, connection, and making a difference,” the committee stated. “Together, we shared laughter, music, and moments that will be cherished for years to come.”
Organizers expressed their gratitude to the breweries, distributors, volunteers, sponsors, and attendees who contributed to the festival’s success. They also encouraged the community to continue supporting local businesses and charities, keeping the spirit of the event alive.
