The Springfield Area Arts Council (SAAC) has announced that applications are now open for the FY25 Regional Arts Partner Grant (RAP). This grant program, formerly known as Community Arts Access, offers project-based funding to community organizations in Sangamon and Menard counties, aiming to enhance access to the arts for underserved populations.
The RAP grants are designed to support special projects, programs, events, and opportunities that occur between April 1, 2025, and August 31, 2025. Eligible organizations can apply for grants of up to $2,000, with applications due by March 1, 2025, at 11:59 PM CT.
All types of organizations are encouraged to apply, with the requirement that each application includes a public presentation or community service component, ensuring that the funded work is accessible to the broader community. First-time applicants are required to contact SAAC staff prior to submission to discuss their project and confirm eligibility, unless they have previously received a grant from the Illinois Arts Council (IAC).
The Regional Arts Partner Grant is funded by the Illinois Arts Council, with matching funds provided by SAAC. In the past, these grants have supported a variety of initiatives, including art exhibitions, theater productions, music concerts, and art fairs, contributing significantly to the local cultural landscape.
Interested organizations can find application guidelines and submission details on the SAAC website. For further assistance or to register for the grant writing workshops, potential applicants are encouraged to contact SAAC directly. This grant offers a valuable opportunity for organizations to make a meaningful impact on the arts in the community.
Past recipients of the RAP grant include the African American History Museum, Big Brothers-Big Sisters, Educational Center for the Visually Impaired, Illinois State Museum Society, Liturgical Arts Festival, Senior Services of Central Illinois, and many others.
