Located at 2100 Shale Street in Springfield, the Sangamon County Animal Control & Adoption Center is committed to protecting the health, safety, and well-being of all animals and people in the community. They not only help reunite lost pets with their families but also provide compassionate care to stray and surrendered animals until they find their forever homes.
All animals available for adoption are vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and microchipped for easy identification. The center ensures every pet is ready to become a healthy, happy addition to your family.
How to Adopt: Visit the Center: Stop by during their adoption hours: Monday-Friday: 10:30 a.m. – 4:15 p.m. and Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. You’ll have the chance to meet the adorable dogs, cats, and other animals eagerly waiting for a home.
Find Your Match: Staff members will assist you in choosing a pet that fits your lifestyle and preferences. Whether you’re a cat person, dog lover, or looking for something unique, there’s a perfect companion for you.
Complete the Adoption Process: After finding your new best friend, fill out the necessary paperwork, pay a small adoption fee, and prepare to bring love into your life.
